The artist tells the relationship between social status and different costume styles, designs and colors through the presentation of an indigenous traditional festivals in this picture. The artist has made a detailed observation of the decoration of headdresses and patterns on the clothes. Although this traditional event symbolizes a joyful gathering it still maintains its ceremonious atmosphere full of emotional touches. In particular, the fancy and fast-changing steps showed by festival dancers is shown. The construction of the picture is rather special. Three stripes with lots of decorations cross the picture giving a coded representation of the tempo of the music being played in the festival. The artist has illustrated the special Pastaai festival of Amei using personal memories, their understanding of the event, and being inspired by it, to construct ideas and then sketch it out. It is an inspiring image which highlights the importance of learning about different cultures and traditions.
